12 Million Drive to Raise Minority High School Students Graduation Rates

Boston, MA (PressExposure) April 10, 2012 -- The America First or Last Movement (AFLM) will launch a 36 month promotional high school graduation campaign in September called the 12 Million Drive for 2025, to target the nation's high school dropout problem. Of which the movement's leaders say are mostly poor minority students in school districts that annually have 50% or lower high school graduation rates.

AFLM's Organizing Director, Albert Mitchell II, said, "The nation's high school dropout crisis is a hoax. It's a minority issue that has been ignored. If you look at the data, 82% of the million plus students dropping out of schools each year are Hispanics, Native-Americans, and African-Americans. If you ask yourself why! The answer always comes back to, JUST FOLLOW the MONEY."

The 12 Million Drive for 2025 will address this issue, by trying to increase minority high school student's graduation rates by 30%, by the year 2025, within the nation's poorest-performing school districts. By featuring 36 free community cooperative educational forums, which will bring together local community parents, businesses, colleges, and social service agencies with their school districts to develop a 12 step action plan to address their high school minority dropout problem.

The 12 step action plan is based on the nation's evidence-base drop-out prevention model, the 100% Graduation Rate Program, which raised high school graduation rates by 56% for the nation's lowest performing students - minority males - in one of the country's most dangerous and poorest cities (Camden, New Jersey). The program was designed by the New Jersey Minority Educational Development Organization (NJ MED) and led by Mr. Mitchell.

The 12 Million Drive for 2025 campaign will depend upon Mr. Mitchell and NJ MED's experience in working in urban and rural minority communities to set up programs and services, to facilitate support for our public schools that have to educate 65% of our nation's future workforce.

The campaign's community forums begin this fall and end in August 2015. The 12 Million Drive for 2025 is searching for businesses, churches, and colleges to host forums to work with local parents and schools.
