A drive to raise $25K for the benefit of the Wounded Warrior Project
by Sally Siko of Silvercord Event Photography LLC
"Each region of the country has it's own romance, from the shady live oak trees of South Carolina to the rugged majesty of the Pacific coast. Time honored traditions and local cuisine add flair to the experience -think a beachside lobster-bake in Rhode Island and Carolina BBQ dinner under a sapphire sky. The regional cultural variances in the way our society celebrates THE BIG DAY can be vast, however I believe that common threads that link us together as a nation are stitched with love."
Over the next few months many thousands of American troops will be returning home to the United States from the wartime theaters of Iraq and Afghanistan. For these men and women, the transition back into civilian life may be difficult for many and is particularly challenging to those who have been wounded mentally or physically.
"As the granddaughter of a veteran who's motto was never quit, I believe that the way that we treat these men and women carries implication that will affect millions more for generations to come.
To honor our nations veterans and create awareness of the struggles that they may face, I have set the goal of personally photographing 50 Weddings in each of the 50 States in the next 2 years while donating a portion of the proceeds of each wedding to directly benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization which exists to assist those service members whom have been injured in war by providing unique, direct programs and services to meet their specific needs."
The portion of the proceeds from each wedding ($500 per event for a total of $25,000 by tours end ) will be directly donated to the WWP upon date booking as well as a personal note of thanks from each client to our nations veterans.
