Kolkata, India (PressExposure) September 29, 2011 -- "Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education. The human mind is our fundamental resource." John F.Kennedy
'Inclusive growth' is what our nation is trying to achieve and all resources are being directed towards the same. Here at Bengal Institute of Business Studies, we have taken a step forward to work towards the development of the society. Human need, poverty and unemployment are the core needs for the establishment of CHETANA.
CHETANA means "enlightenment". The journey of CHETANA as a program is established to provide education to the underprivileged youth, to build better lively hood opportunities for the underprivileged youth.
It is a BIBS student's initiative to uplift the society we are living in and impart the values we have imbibed from the corporate speakers at our campus. It is a non-profit trust that contributes towards community development through various activities in the field of education in Kolkata. It aims to address the challenges of society through meaningful participation and collaboration with committed individuals and institutions.
CHETANA, a unique concept in itself, has a promising agenda of serving the less privileged and creating a difference in their life. Set with an objective of imparting a free of cost professional training and subsequent job assistance to the many unemployed educated people.
Role Of BIBS Students
The students of BIBS are involved with CHETANA in a two tier process. The corporate explorer team is responsible for engaging corporate to assist with the teaching. This team also looks into creating placement opportunities for the trained candidates and is responsible for raising the funds required to run the programme.
People - Whom is it for
Quality education is the only medium that can improve the living standards of the less privileged people. It is the most powerful tool, which can equip them to make informed and intelligent choices about their lives and future. CHETANA believes that education is the only weapon to fight poverty and truly empower the youth of tomorrow.
Corporate or the industry people will play a crucial role in this program. Their role will entail ranging from sponsorship, mentoring and recruiting youth of underprivileged sections. We will appreciate their participation and contributionin this regard.
