London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) November 04, 2009 -- The Location Collective are pleased to announce that The Parkwood Estate in Egham, Surrey is now available for all size and type of Film & TV production.
One of The Location Collectiveâs members came across the Parkwood Estate while location scouting for a TV drama and within a couple of weeks it was being seriously considered as a key filming location for some of this winters major television productions.
Located 3 miles west of the M25 in Egham, Surrey and set within almost 91 acres of stunning English landscape lies this parkland idyll. In addition to the expanse of beautiful grounds and surrounding woodland the Parkwood Estate has a fantastic range of individual features including a sprawling yet deserted manor house, a farm house, cottages, paddocks, bungalows, a lake, tennis courts, gardens and a gatehouse. As a group, this is a truly unique, collection of pristine, residential properties that make up one of Londonâs finest filming locations â the perfect VACANT VILLAGE.
The highlight film location of this site is the 'Arts and Crafts' mansion. It is unoccupied and contains a network of aesthetically appealing and interesting spaces, including a striking wood panelled entrance hall & staircase, numerous large and versatile rooms as well as unique fire places, a commercial style kitchen all constitute this the picture perfect and exceptional film location.
Contrasting the manor house is the Stables House; an unfurnished âfootballers wivesâ location inspired country home. Other vacant residential filming locations within the Parkwood Estate are âThe Gate Houseâ, two semi-detached cottages, an isolated bungalow and a somewhat creepy-looking white-clad home set in the idyllic, filmic woodland. All houses are unfurnished and really are great blank canvases film locations.
Janie Richardson, Head of Locations at The Collective, has been very pleased although not hugely surprised with the level of interest shown by the âlocation industryâ in Parkwood saying, âWithin one week of marketing the location to our contact base of 3,000 individuals working in the film, television, photographic and events industries we had arranged an average of one viewing a day. A John Lennon BBC production has confirmed their intention to hire as has a leading ITV drama now into its second series. We are also close to confirming this as a priniciple location for a feature film production totalling a hire of eight weeks. To be honest we are finding it hard to fit everything in but come 2010 we expect this rush to subside ⦠at least a little.â
