New York, New York (PressExposure) September 20, 2007 -- Unsolicited material, or more commonly known as spam, is a serious problem on the Internet. Be it via emails or websites with user databases, spammers are able to infiltrate these sites, "harvest" email addresses and, with the help of automated scripts, start sending spam.
"Spammers and their ways and measures of obtaining user information are getting more advanced by the day," states Chief of Operations, Mr. Tang Chin Yong. "Strengthening our anti-spam measures are a must, if we want to continue in providing an optimal advertising experience for our users."
"With our new "Block User" function, there is no better or faster way to combat spam against our users. They decide what constitutes as spam, coming from who, and block it as they deem fit."
Usage of this function is simple. Upon receiving a PM, if the user deems it as spam, just click on the words "Block this user", whereupon he/she will be directed to the Block List section of the site. The user ID of the spammer will be pre-entered in the ID field. Simply click on the "Block" button to execute. To unblock, just select the user ID from the list of users blocked, and click on the "Unblock" button to remove them from the blocked list.
"With this feature, we believe Ablewise.com will move forward another step in helping our users ward off spam, and only receive PMs that are legitimate."
