Pune, India (PressExposure) August 02, 2011 -- Amdocs, the market leader in customer experience systems innovation, also known for its Corporate Social Responsibility is celebrating the success of its sports team. Amdocs sports teams which consists of a cricket team, hockey team and volley ball teams have been very active since the past few months and have won many awards like Corporate 20-20 Cricket tournament in April, Maharashtra Krida Volleball Championship in June, etc. Amdocs is going a step forward by extending the sportsmanship spirit amongst its partnered NGOs as well. The joyous evening also hosted Mr. Vasudev (Shyam) Oka, the veteran Ranji player, Ajit Lakra Hockey player, coach and selector and Gopi Pillai, Hockey Coach motivating and sharing their own sporting experiences with the young guns.
Amdocs has dedicated itself to improving health and spreading education among the children of their partnered NGO's. Over these two years, what came across was that there were children who had special interest in certain sports like cricket, hockey, etc. To make these children competitive enough to pursue these sports as a career option, Amdocs is going to extend its support to the NGOs where they would bring in experts to train the children and teach them the nuances of the games.
Hockey being India's national game, Amdocs had a keen interest in promoting it. Also it was pleasing to see that most of the children from the NGOs, both boys and girls, showed a wholehearted interest in the game. Amdocs, this year has decided to add another responsibility which would be building future sports personality. Amdocs announced that they would be assisting in developing the sports club by providing the facilities which would be required to train the children.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Vasudev (Shyam) Oka said, "It is enthralling to see these young men and children so enthused about sports and cricket. It reminds me of my own starting days. It is heartwarming to see Amdocs taking such a keen interest in supporting its people to pursue their hobbies. It is surely a win-win situation for both Amdocs and its people."
Mr. Anshoo Gaur, India Head Amdocs said, "Amdocs sports team has had many successful matches in the past and we are taking this opportunity to celebrate with them. Not only limiting it to our employees, we also want to include our partnered NGOs so the children there can also participate in games they love. Thus we have decided to provide all kinds of support required by the sports team and the partnered NGOs. We know that our partnered NGOs have children who are very kicked about hockey and it is our privilege to be able to help nurture their interest."
