Avon Lake, Ohio (PressExposure) April 03, 2012 -- American Bariatrics now offers a Free online Support Group for Pre & Post-Op Bariatric weight loss surgery patients. The support group is a great place to ask questions and learn everything there is to know about weight loss surgery. Many of the support group members check back in several times a day to engage with friends they have met on the site or to introduce themselves to new members that are joining every day. The support group has topics that include Pre-Surgery Questions, Post Surgery Complications, Hair Loss, Medications, Relationship Challenges, Self-Esteem, Nutrition, Recipes and an unlimited number of new topics. Members may also introduce themselves in the Introductions room and can post their upcoming surgery dates in the Upcoming Surgeries room. Several members have begun sharing before and after photos of themselves after their weight loss transformation. Anyone beginning their journey or already on their bariatric journey are encouraged to join or at least browse the support group's site at AmericanBariatrics.Org. American Bariatrics is an amazing free tool that is endorsed by many in the Bariatric field and is completely Free!
The support group also has a free Articles and Information section. The Articles and Information section of the American Bariatrics site is a collection of articles written by professionals and non-professionals. This section allows for great research in individual topics. The major topics in this section include Behavior Modification, Lifestyle Modification, Exercise, Nutrition (Eating Habits, Vitamins, Foods You Should Eat or Avoid), Recipes (Breakfast, Dinner, Chicken, High-Protein), Diabetes (Reducing and Preventing Diabetes), Weight Loss Surgery (Pre-Surgery, Life After Surgery), and Health News. There is also a section of the Articles page that you can use to submit an article to the library. This could be used if you have written or come across an informative, well-written article. All articles are referenced and linked to the original article, but if the author wishes to have their article taken down then it will be taken off the site.
American Bariatrics has also recently opened up their Bariatric Food Store. This store contains everything that a weight loss surgery patient would need to receive their adequate nutrition and protein intake. The store carries the typical bariatric food: Protein Bars, Shakes, Snacks, Entrees, and Vitamins. American Bariatrics makes good use of the support group forum by letting their customers/members talk openly about their products. This lets new members know what products taste good/bad without the American Bariatrics staff interfere with their honest conversations.
