Canton, GA (PressExposure) May 05, 2010 -- Several credit card providers allow you to personalize the look of your credit card, but few go to the extreme of American Express. American Express has introduced a new credit card, Zync, that allows you custom pick the rewards benefits you receive from your credit card. The card is geared to appeal to young adults, ages 25 to 35

Card holders can tailor their ZYNC card by adding groups of benefits American Express is calling "packs." Currently, there are 10 packs available.

Some packs require an increased annual fee while others are free to cardholders. There are rewards packages for every type of cardholder and spending money is not always required to receive rewards. For example, Give Back, a free pack, gives you 1,000 Membership Rewards points for each logged hour of volunteer service and one Membership Rewards point for every charitable dollar donated using your American Express Card.

"With the ZYNC Card, we've taken a completely new and unique approach in product development by asking people to step inside American Express and join our design team," said Mary Hines, VP, ZYNC Product Management, American Express.

Most of the packs will cost an annual fee but are entirely customizable to an individual’s interests. Packs range from $5 to $25.

However, membership rewards cards can be restrictive. They often depend on the agreements arranged by the credit card company and don’t guarantee sustainable satisfaction.
