Ann Arbor, MI (PressExposure) February 12, 2014 -- Ann Arbor Buyer Agent Joel Decker received the Fighting Fiduciary Service award recently. The award was given by The Home Buyer's Agent of Ann Arbor, Inc., where he has served home buyers since 1997.
Mr. Decker was working recently with clients who ran into a number of serious problems with a property in the hours before closing. While each problem individually might not have been an issue, the combination of all the problems arising in the final day before closing was a significant concern for the buyers. Unsure of how to move forward with the transaction, and now hesitant about the purchase altogether, the clients asked their agent for advice.
Managing broker Jon Boyd at the Company stated "Joel patiently reviewed all the options with the buyers and instead of pushing them to close, as regular real estate agents are prone to do, Joel helped them pull out of the transaction while protecting their earnest money deposit." Undoubtably it would have been easier to urge the clients to go against their intuition and close on the property and have a done deal, but by acting solely in the interests of the buyers, Joel made a move rarely seen in today's market. Boyd effectively summed up Joel's qualifications for receiving the Fiduciary Service Award by noting "Joel was totally focused on the buyers needs, not his own, and that is the mark of a great buyer's agent!"
Along with receiving the Fighting Fiduciary Service Award, Decker received a $2,500 cash prize from his brokerage.
