Budapest, Hungary (PressExposure) May 14, 2014 -- Innocence Descent is the heavy melodic rock/metal debut album from 4-piece Ann My Guard, released on Smash Fabric Records in April 2014. The sound comprises drums and guitar, with front woman Eszter providing bass and vocals. Imagine the love child of Courtney Love and Evanescence raised by PJ Harvey and you're somewhere close! The full album can now be streamed for free here.
The 13 lush, melodic and haunting songs showcase Eszter's stunning vocal performance brilliantly. From the super-catchy, pogoing "Crush Honey" to the much darker and heavier "Fallen", every song reeks of the quality you'd expect from an album that took 6 years to write, performed by such an accomplished band and produced by the most renowned producer in their native Hungary, Gabor Vari.
Here are a few words from Eszter about the album:
"We think that in the 21st century cyber-world, not only the high quality music that matters but also the visual atmosphere of a production, the images, dresses, colours and hidden symbols have also a specific role.
That's why the album has a story behind the songs; the lunar eclipse, which represents the descent of the female soul. In the beginning she's only dreaming of her love, than finds him in a bridal dress and the Fall happens (Crush Honey). Than he disappears, she mourns their love and in the sadness and odium, she finally descends to the New Moon, the black, becoming strong and determined in her own darkness.
If I was unromantic, I would say this album is about losing a girl's virginity...probably mine, but I always re-experience this feeling when I fall in love with a new man.
Love is an art, womanhood is an art, and rock music is the key for me to express my feelings and thoughts."
A European album promotion tour is planned for later this year. To be informed of tour dates "Like" their Facebook Page.
