Apex, NC (PressExposure) July 24, 2014 -- This spring, when Apex decided to celebrate the centennial of its most recognized icon: The Apex Union Depot, Peter and Sharon Galluzzo of Home Video Studio-Apex wanted to be on board with the project. They approached Stephen Xavier, Executive Director of the Apex Chamber of Commerce, with the proposal to produce a documentary to mark the event. The resulting video includes photos and illustrations from local artists, interviews with citizens who personally experienced the history of the building and lively stories of how what one sees today came to be. The 17-minute video was just named the "Best Documentary" Hanley Award in Orlando, Florida.
The Hanley Awards, Home Video Studio's version of the Oscars, recognize achievement in the video industry. The 14th Annual Hanley Awards, a black-tie awards gala, was held at the Rosen Plaza in Orlando, Florida. The Home Video Studio franchise is comprised of more than 60 studios located world-wide. The Hanleys; named after Robert Hanley, the founder and CEO of Home Video Studio; are in recognition of a studio owner's work during the past year. This year the awards field was narrowed down to 15 categories as compared to 33 in previous years. That meant tighter competition and more excitement.
In addition to the video excellence award, Home Video Studio-Apex was honored with the Best Studio Store of the Year. "We are so proud that our hometown has supported this business," said owner Peter Galluzzo. He continued, "being named Studio Store of the Year is a reflection, not only of our hard work, but of the confidence our customers have in our dedication to preserve their legacies."
Furthermore, internet sensation Evan Carmichael (#believe) presented Sharon and Peter Galluzzo with the Social Media Award for their continued success in keeping in touch with customers and fans in social media outlets. This is the second year in a row that Home Video Studio-Apex was so honored.
Home Video Studio - Apex was awarded as the Best of the Best with the Seven Stars for Excellence Award. This award recognizes only those Home Video Studios who meet strict criteria. It stands for commitment to quality, service and excellence throughout the year.
