Apple Holler's Red Barn Theatre to Hold Auditions for Remaining 2011 and 2012 Season

Apple Holler's Red Barn Theatre has been a destination for upbeat musical entertainment for more than a decade. Its intimate performance venue allows guests to have a unique dinner theatre experience that is personal and interactive; an experience that Red Barn Theatre guests have come to know, expect, enjoy and that keeps them coming back for more.

The Red Barn Theatre will be holding auditions, by appointment only, April 18th - April 21st, 2011, with daytime and evening appointments available. Those auditioning may be considered for open male and female roles in the following productions: Heaven's Got Talent, running June - August, 2011; Kitchen Witches, running September - November, 2011; The Purfekt Family's Third Annual Holiday Letter, running November - December, 2011; as well as productions in the 2012 season. Those auditioning, if interested, may also be considered for roles in Apple Holler's children's theatre programs including: Jack and the Beanstalk, Apple Holler Mining Mayhem, The Johnny Appleseed Show, The Johnny Appleseed Puppet Show, Mrs. Claus and the Littlest Reindeer and Furry Tails with a Twist.

Ideal candidates will have the following skills/traits: strong vocalist and performer, able to work well in an intimate performance environment, skilled with audience interaction, a team player who is enjoys working in a collaborative environment, a flexible and friendly personality and a non-equity performer. Those interested in being considered for the children's theatre productions must also work well and communicate well with children of all ages and will be subject to a background check.

Red Barn theatre offers weekday luncheon performances as well as weekend and weekday evening performances. Performers need to be available, with advance notice, for daytime and evening performances, although the sharing of roles may be considered for select performers with restricted daytime or evening availability. Compensation is relative to skill and experience.

To schedule an audition, call 262-884-7100 and ask to speak with Heather. Those auditioning should prepare two musical pieces of differing style, with each musical selection lasting no more than one minute. A piano and accompanist will not be available, so candidates should be prepared to sing a capella or provide a CD with a backing track. Those auditioning should also be prepared to read from a script, participate in an interview, supply a resume or be prepared to fill out an application and should have a list of any future commitments that could conflict with certain productions.
