AsteraTouch Is a Finalist at the PLASA 2013 Awards

Rudesheim An Der Nahe, Germany (PressExposure) September 10, 2013 -- Announced on 4th September 2013, Astera's flagship RF controller, the AsteraTouch, is through to the last eight of the sixth annual PLASA Rock Our World Awards. PLASA created the awards to celebrate ground-breaking achievements by its members, and to acknowledge the genius of both the creator of technology and the designer or integrator who applies the technology in a real world setting.

Norbert Ernst, CEO of Astera, commented: "The AsteraTouch controller really pushes the boundaries for easy-to-use wireless lighting control and we're just very happy that others are noticing that, and it makes me especially proud that a body with such credibility and knowledge, such as PLASA, are giving the AsteraTouch its due credit. We've worked many years at perfecting the AsteraTouch to reach a level where it can be a viable replacement for other controllers".

The AsteraTouch is the only wireless, touchscreen lighting controller specifically designed to address the needs of event lighting organisers. Due to the seven-inch, 1024x600-pixel captive touchscreen, the often complex Astera control system is simplified into a few easy stages. It can manage an unlimited amount of wireless Astera products up to a 300m range with complete control over programs, effects, brightness, fade, speed, colour mixing and calibration. Customisable programs can be stored, renamed and easily launched for future events.

The AsteraTouch gives users the freedom and ease-of-use to walk through an event and organise the lights and effects from the clienteles' perspective, but also to manage the lights and programs from a place of height so as to have an overview of proceedings. The flexibility in control is further displayed by all of its 24 pre-defined programs being fully customizable, and with many other slots available for users to make programs from scratch. Further benefits include the option to periodically install the latest firmware that Astera's software team are continually developing.

The research and development team are always working to add new features to make the AsteraTouch even better. Features upcoming in the next few years will focus on the communicative ability with Astera's wireless lights and synchronising the lights to music.

The 2013 Rock Our World Award winner will be presented at PLASA's Cocktail & Awards Reception at LDI 2013 on Thursday 21st November, 2013 at the Las Vegas Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Book your ticket and wish Astera good luck!
