Philadelphia, PA (PressExposure) November 30, 2011 -- Obermayer attorney Jacob Sitman recently presented a program on "At-Will Employment and Personnel Policies in New Jersey" for the Medical Office Managers Society of South Jersey at its monthly meeting.
Sitman provided practical tips for complying with the myriad of workplace laws and regulations in New Jersey and the importance of maintaining, updating and consistently following basic personnel and human resource policies.
Sitman, a member of Obermayer's Labor Relations and Employment Law Department, concentrates his practice in employment discrimination and retaliation litigation, employee benefits, employee health and safety, trade secret litigation and appeals, restrictive covenants and labor-management relations.
Sitman also has experience in labor representation campaigns and elections, arbitrations and charges with the National Labor Relations Board. He represents both public and private employers, and counsels them on employment and labor related laws and regulations. He has lectured for clients and industry associations on a number of labor and management topics, including terminations and wage and hour compliance. He has authored several articles on employment law and was co-author of the Pennsylvania chapter of the treatise, Wage and Hour Laws, A State-by-State Survey (BNA).
Sitman was twice named as one of the top young lawyers on the Pennsylvania Rising Stars list.
