Author Delaney Diamond Writes Romance to Bring Attention to Domestic Violence

Atlanta, GA (PressExposure) October 22, 2010 -- This month is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and author Delaney Diamond wanted to help bring awareness to domestic violence, which affects 25 percent of women in their lifetime. To do that, she wrote a short romance entitled, Model Behavior, whose storyline touches on domestic violence.

The story is posted on Ms. Diamond’s website (www.delaneydiamond.com) as a Free Read, where anyone can conveniently download it as a PDF. For each comment posted on her website about the story, she will donate 50 cents (up to $100) to help fund the National Domestic Violence Hotline. When asked why she chose to do this, Ms. Diamond replied, “I don’t often get to engage in philanthropic endeavors because of my schedule. This provided me the opportunity to entertain my readers, while at the same time bringing attention to an issue that’s far too prevalent in our society.”

She recommended other ways to help fight domestic violence: 1) Contact a local women’s shelter to donate clothing and other necessities; 2) Offer time and/or money to organizations which fight domestic violence and help women and children in these volatile situations.
