ProtoMon is a server monitoring software intended to help you to make sure that all your servers are working and responding within acceptable time intervals.
Using ProtoMon you can automatically check a wide range of servers including different web, file and mail servers, as well as any other TCP-based servers. The operations list includes but not limited to the Ping command. While checking the web servers, ProtoMon can download pages(with or without the proxy server, using normal or secure connection) and process redirects (with controlling the final URL). In the case of the file servers, it can download any files using FTP, FTPS or SFTP protocols. Dealing with the mail servers the program can send the test messages using the SMTP protocol. In addition, it can execute any scripts on the remote servers using Telnet or SSH protocol.
When some of your servers become unavailable, ProtoMon will immediately notify you by showing the notification pop-up window, playing a sound file or sending the notification e-mail message.
ProtoMon saves monitoring history to you computer, thus you can review your servers uptime statistics anytime you need it.
What is new in ProtoMon 1.2?
From this release, ProtoMon will keep all monitoring statistics forever. Check the statistics tab to get this in the very user-friendly form. There you can select a desired time period and see detailed information for the selected monitor: monitoring time within the selected period, periods of server uptime and downtime, different response times (min, max and average), etc. Also ProtoMon provides you with the graphical representation of statistics, allowing to see your server status at every particular moment. Statistical diagram supports panning and zooming and shows a descriptive hints for the better usability.
