Castaic, CA (PressExposure) March 02, 2009 -- Wade Institute and Courtyard by Marriott Santa Clarita share a common interest in supporting the community and businesses, which community members heavily rely on for products and services. The government has supplied financial support to corporations, banks, and other industries to stimulate the economy. Unfortunately, the small business community won't see relief from these billions of bailout dollars. According to the Small Business Administration and other reports, more than 45,000 small businesses are dissolving quarterly throughout the country. This number has increased by five percent to ten percent each quarter beginning 2007.
In an effort to generate money's back in to the community and save local businesses, Connie Sparks, president of the Wade Institute is creating alliances with other consultants and company's to form business development workshops and programs to stimulate the market on a local level. Wade Institute is a Technical Assistant for the Small Business Administration. As a certified TA one of the functions is to serve as an intermediary for the Community Express loan program, which is designed for small businesses seeking a small amount of capital for equipment, improvements, working capital, etc. This loan can only be accessed through an SBA Technical Assistant. Ms. Sparks's primary business a consultant and trainer, often conduct these sorts of clinics for a fee throughout California.
Due to the current struggles small and grass-root businesses are encountering to stay in business today, she reached out to Courtyard by Marriott's Sales and Catering Manager Anca Parascan. Ms. Parascan shared an interest in supporting the cause, together brainstormed ideas on how to offer this clinic without imposing any cost on to business owners. Ms. Parascan with the approval of her General Manager arranged for Ms. Sparks to setup a space within the hotel lobby with computer access, where she will assist borrowers through the application process and get pre-qualified for an express loan, which will take only minutes. The Courtyard by Marriott Santa Clarita has been a running force in supporting the community, assisting local businesses and groups with their meeting and event needs since residency in 2007.
Anca Parascan, the Sales and Catering Manager and staff make every effort to accommodate clients, offering the best deals of any five star chain hotel in the area. Connie Sparks Author, Business Strategist, and Trainer, and president of the Wade Institute, provides Business and Capital Development Consulting services to growing businesses. She is an advocate for educating and training women, promoting success, growth, and leadership through community partnerships. Because of these partnerships she has trained thousands of business owners and executives collectively throughout California. Ms. Sparks is committed to building communities and the workforce. Her contribution include serving as a Board of Director for the Santa Clarita Domestic Violence Center where she takes pride in creating opportunities and supporting disadvantage women and children. And, supports the Black Business Committee as the Business Relations Director. Additionally, she's a consultant and trainer for the Santa Clarita Small Business Development Center where she imparts her experience, knowledge, and expertise on to business owners.
Her background includes more than fifteen years in the business service industry, nine years in management, program development and human resources, collectively. Her education includes a degree in Business Management and Human Resource, and she holds a credential in Business Communication and Computer Applications. Ms. Sparks's published work include The Survival Guide for African American Women, Where's The Money? and The Entrepreneur's Small Business Guide just to name a few. She's been featured in various news articles circulated internationally, discussing her views on domestic violence, entrepreneurship and business development issues and currently appears as a co-host on KHTS radio show Leadership Starts Here with Bill Miranda president of BMC.
Her efforts to reach the small business community have been recognized by higher education institutions, associations, and Corporate America. 2005 Ms. Sparks added a subdivision to her company CTB which develops programs offered to women faced with financial challenges an opportunity to start their own business and earn residual income. She has helped more than a dozen women start their own traveling retail service and took on the challenge of introducing a new career opportunity to women to venture into the banking industry and becoming independent consultants for other small businesses. She hired three women as freelance intermediaries and assisted others in starting their own consulting service. Ms. Sparks has infused more than eight million dollars into women owned businesses, twenty million total in the business community.
She has been honored by Toastmasters International (President's Distinguished Award 2002), The For You Network- National Association of Female Executives (NAFE) (Business Woman of the Year 2006), (Best Corporate Environment Award 2006), and (Sphere of Influence Award 2007), and the Los Angeles Business Journal (Women Who Make A Difference 2007) and recently named recipient of the Small Business Administration's 2009 Home-Based Champion Award because of her social responsibility and commitment to the business community.
