Westmount, Quebec Canada (PressExposure) October 10, 2011 -- The summer of 2011 was an unprecedented time of savings, contests, and winnings for Beezid members. New initiatives were put in place that made it easier for members to win auctions, and for less money than ever before. And with Beezid's Back-to-School Special that featured a guarantee of 99% off retail on every item with all bids returned, a new benchmark was set for penny auction savings.
This summer also marked the beginning of a brand-new type of auction at Beezid, known as Lock-breakers. These auctions allow members who have achieved their win limits to bid on Lock-breakers that reset their limits, allowing them to bid on specific types of auctions without having to wait for the lockout period to end.
"Our aim is to constantly improve the experience that our members have at Beezid, to offer bigger savings and better products than anywhere else, and to make sure that absolutely anyone can win an auction, no matter what that item might be," said Max Bohbot, President of Beezid.com. Announced on August 9th, Beezid's Pick Your Ride event is another penny auction first. Members are currently voting for a car to be auctioned off from a choice of five of the most popular vehicles available on the market today.
This summer was also a great time for celebrity endorsements and contests. Lindsay Lohan's Beezid video became a viral hit that began on TMZ.com and PerezHilton.com and was mentioned in news media as far away as The Daily Mail in the UK. JP Rosenbaum, winner of The Bachelorette confirmed that he had been shopping at Beezid for items for his new home with his future wife, Ashley Hebert.
In addition, the stars of the wildly popular podcast Jay & Silent Bob Get Old, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, have signed with Beezid to do a weekly product review segment on their podcast. At the end of the segment, they give listeners a code to enter at the Beezid contest page, and listeners can win the product that was reviewed that week, autographed by Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes. Once every quarter, one listener will also win a trip to L.A. to sit in on a podcast recording with the famous comedy duo.
