Thursday, Sept. 3rd. at 11am - 12pm: âArt Talkâ with Dave Hickey, one of the best-known American art and culture critics practicing today, will explore his arguments against academicism and in favor of the rough and tumble free markets on art. Dave Hickey has been the subject of numerous profiles in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and U.S. News and World Reports. Artists featured include: Shinpei Takeda, Nina Waisman, Fabian Cereijido, Iana Quesnell and Daniel Ruanova. Artists will discuss new contemporary art practices and explore issues relating to identity, new urbanism, and new mediums.
San Diegoâs first Beyond the Border International Contemporary Art Fair (BTB) is a 3-day contemporary art fair that will include national and international galleries featuring over 500 works by jury-selected established and emerging contemporary artists from all over the world, exhibiting in The Grand Del Marâs expansive ballroom accompanied by numerous luxury exhibitors and food and wine events.
