Big Ten Basketball and Spring Break Fun in Downtown Indy!

Indianapolis, IN (PressExposure) February 28, 2012 -- Downtown transforms into every basketball fan’s fantasy with the Big Ten Women’s & Men’s Basketball Tournaments. March 1 – 11 is jam-packed with opportunities to cheer on your favorite teams. No ticket, no problem! With more than 260 restaurants and bars and several fan events, Downtown is the place to catch the action. Use this information as your guide to optimize your basketball experience Downtown.

• March 4, 2 p.m. FREE – Big Ten Women's Basketball Pep Rally (Bankers Life Fieldhouse)

Basketball fans are invited to come Downtown early and fire-up inside the Fieldhouse entry pavilion. Don’t miss band and cheerleader performances, complimentary popcorn and face painting!

• March 9, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. FREE – Big Ten Conference Career Expo (Union Station)

The event pairs the talents of Big Ten students and alumni with the staffing needs of elite and industry-leading employers. Full-time jobs and internships will be available.

• March 11

o 11 a.m. – Big Ten Hoops Day 5K (begins and ends at Bankers Life Fieldhouse)

Start championship Sunday with a lap around Downtown! Don’t forget to wear your school colors! For the competitive and the casual runners, the first 2,000 participants will receive a Nike long sleeve event T-shirt.

o 1:30 p.m. – Big Ten Men’s Basketball Pep Rally FREE (outside Bankers Life Fieldhouse)

Men's basketball fans are invited to come Downtown early and prepare for the championship game. Don't miss the band and cheerleader performances, complimentary popcorn, face painting and autograph sessions.

Stimulating new exhibits

The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians & Western Art will get your motor running when it presents the Steel Ponies exhibit opening March 10. The exhibit will feature more than 20 motorcycles including Evel Knievel’s bike he used in many of his famous jumps.
