Hollywood, CA (PressExposure) June 18, 2009 -- Volunteering in your local community is one the most noble contributions you can make in your community. Giving back is something that every person and business should take time out and get involved in and help support your local charities.
We would like to take this time and highlight an outstanding charity "The Salvation Army".
Salvation Army's mission is help others that are in need and help assist them in a wide array of programs catering to the needs of children, families, the elderly and individuals. The Salvation Army was founded by William Booth, in London in 1865 and provides services to people in over 100 countries around the world.
Some of the services Salvation Army provides are disaster relief services, child care services, summer camps, holiday assistance, serving the aging, and AIDS education and residential services, medical facilities, shelters for battered woman and children, family and career training and substance abuse rehabilitation. They provide services to over 30 million people a year.
The Salvation Army's food pantry feeds dozens of hungry families each month. Food drives conducted by schools, churches corporations and civic groups provide the groceries needed to make this project successful.
Biltmore Who's Who, is going to coordinate our own food drive to give back to our local community. We will be going Business to Business, Door to Door, and Canvas the Local Community in regards to help fill up the food pantry at our local Salvation Army in Broward County, Florida. Our employees will help assist in this project along with being more educated on volunteerism. We already have employee's active in volunteering in the kitchen preparing and serving meals.
We would like to invite all of our members to get involved around the nation and start coordinating their own personal food drives either by setting out boxes in their office for their employees to fill up. You can also go business to business and collect canned foods to donate to your local branch.
It is our mission to help fill up our local Salvation Army food Pantry so no one ever has to ever go hungry. With your help these food banks will always be full and able to provide food for needy families in time of despair and in cases of natural disasters.
Please get involved a give back to your community that has given you back so much. We here at Biltmore Who's Who would like to thank you and your business in advance for any and all participation that you will be contributing to this project.
If you and your group would like to conduct a food drive for The Salvation Army please call your local chapter to sign up to be a volunteer.
