Blazing Billies Athletes Qualify 100% for AAU National Junior Olympics

Pleasant Hill, Oregon (PressExposure) July 07, 2012 -- At the recent AAU Western Jr. Olympics held June 27th - July 1st in Reno, Nevada, five members of the Pleasant Hill Blazing Billies Track & Field team competed. Each took one or more gold, silver or bronze medals and all 5 qualified for the AAU National Junior Olympics scheduled for July 28 through August 4 at Turner Stadium in Humble, Texas. 100% effort with 100% success!

Austin Klecka age 14 of Pleasant Hill set a new AAU Western Jr. Olympics javelin record for the Boys Youth Division. His record setting throw of 147' - 10" was 14'-7" over the previous record. Austin took first place earning the Gold Medal for Javelin in the Boys Youth Division.

Jessica Cook age 12 of Dexter took first place earning the Gold Medal for 6# Shot Put in the Girls Sub-Youth division with a throw of 29' - 3" and also earned a Bronze Medal in long jump.

Seth Weinheimer age 12 of Dexter placed second and earned the Silver Medal for Javelin in the Boys Sub-youth division and also earned a Bronze Medal in high jump. John Needham age 12 of Pleasant Hill earned Bronze Medals in the Midget division for both Boys 6# Shot Put and the 1,500 meter race.

Shyanne Fenley age 7 of Dexter earned a Bronze Medal in the Girls Long Jump Primary Division.
