Warwick, Rhode Island (PressExposure) March 09, 2011 -- The 2012 SLK "Magic Sky Control" option provides a glass roof on the car that can be switched from light to dark.
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK will come standard with a painted roof, but a dark-tinted glass panorama roof and a "Magic Sky Control" roof will be available as an option. Your Boston Mercedes dealership, Inskip Mercedes-Benz, looks forward to being able to offer their Boston used Mercedes customers this awesome new option when they purchase the third generation SLK.
The "Magic Sky Control" option provides a glass roof on the car that can switched from light to dark by pressing a button. The light mode permits passengers to see out and light to enter the car. It lightens the glass to a point that is nearly twice as clear as a normal sunroof but still protects passengers from UV and infrared light. In cold weather passengers can still have an open-air feel while keeping warm.
The dark mode eliminates the ability to see out and light from entering through the roof. This mode provides protection from the sun's heat even during the hottest parts of the day. Darkening the roof occurs in just seconds. When the car is turned off, the roof automatically darkens to prevent sun from entering and causing the car's interior to get too hot.
Your Boston Mercedes dealership, Inskip Mercedes-Benz, believes that Boston used Mercedes owners will likely enjoy driving a new SLK with a "Magic Sky Control" roof. The 2012 SLK is expected to go on sale this summer, but new car buyers should keep in touch with Inskip Mercedes-Benz to determine exactly when this vehicle will be arriving at their dealership.
