Los Angeles, California (PressExposure) August 24, 2009 -- Boxers & Ballerinas, Inc. (www.BoxersAndBallerinas.tv), has announced the launch of a unique fitness class that combines the best of today's dance moves with heart-pumping boxing drills for an all-around fun, challenging workout that will give kids something to move about.
Boxerinoâ¢, the unique method that combines elements of dance, boxing, and fitness play, is based on input from over 200 kids, physicians, pediatricians, counselors, and psychologists from across the U.S.
The bulk of the program was developed by Boxers & Ballerinas Founder Rebekah Iliff, and co-developed by: Jennifer Galardi (Crunch Fitness "Barre Assets," Exercise TV, and Discovery Health); Ricky Quiles (Boxers & Ballerinas Co-Founder; WBF, NABO, WBC, NABA title holder); and Rodolfo Diaz-Utra ("Havana Nights," Sabado Gigante, Latin Grammys).
"The goal of Boxerino⢠is to offer kids a positive, upbeat environment to learn about the importance of physical activity while acquiring a new skill set," remarked Iliff. "After observing kids for over a year in various classes--including ballet, hip hop, and boxing--we were able to extract themes from each that we could combine for a fun, self-esteem boosting experience."
Added Galardi: "I've been in the dance and fitness industry for over ten years, and I know a hit when I see one. When Boxers & Ballerinas approached me with their idea I was thrilled to be involved because I could see the potential of the program. Now more than ever fitness professionals and studio owners have to innovate in order to keep people, especially kids, engaged...and they have done just that."
Boxerino⢠classes will be offered at the Boxers & Ballerinas studio in Studio City, California, beginning September 14, 2009. Additionally, Boxers & Ballerinas offers in-school demo programs for local area public, charter, and private schools.
