Los Angeles, California (PressExposure) March 05, 2012 -- MEDIA ALERT
A Final Farewell:
Brad Renfro's Last Film Collector to Have Final Public Screening at NewFilmmakers LA
WHAT: Brad Renfro, who died tragically in 2008, left behind a final message for his fans in Dempsey Tillman's Collector. Shot shortly before his death, the film focuses on a down on his luck man's battle (Renfro) with himself and the forces of good and evil (played by Matthew Boylan). It was a battle Renfro was familiar with, which is why Tillman believes he had such a connection to the character and story. Tillman will be answering questions about the movie and working with Brad at the end of the screening. Other directors will also be discussing their movies.
Written and directed by Tillman, the film has won over 27 awards at various film festivals around the world, including "Best Short Film," "Best Director" for Tillman and "Best Actor" for Renfro among others. It has also won praise from Hollywood heavyweights like Grant Curtis of the Spiderman franchise. It was selected as one of 15 films to be shown at NewFilmmakers Los Angeles and is the last chance for the public to see Brad's most personal and final performance.
