Los Angeles, CA (PressExposure) June 15, 2011 -- Breakwater Investment Management, LLC ("Breakwater") is pleased to announce that Avram Miller, former Corporate Vice President of Business Development at Intel Corp. and founder and CEO of The Avram Miller Company, has joined its Advisory Board as Chairman. Breakwater, a private investment firm, is the General Partner of Breakwater Structured Growth Opportunities Fund, LP (the "Fund"), a private investment partnership that provides growth capital to highly promising small businesses.
Avram Miller was a co-founder of Intel Capital and is known for his successful investments in early-stage companies. Miller has been listed several times in the Forbes Midas list of the top 100 venture investors, occupying the number eight position in 2003. USA Today called Miller a "one-man think tank" and "strategic matchmaker." Miller has served on the boards of numerous public and private technology and entertainment companies, and has advised various financial services firms, including Lazard. After leaving Intel in 1999, Miller set up The Avram Miller Company to advise early stage companies on strategic and financing issues.
"It gives me great pleasure to become an advisor to Breakwater," said Avram Miller. "Saif Mansour, the Managing Partner of Breakwater began his career working directly for me at The Avram Miller Company, where he managed my personal investments in early-stage companies. I have continued to take a strong interest in Saif's professional development, and advised him informally in setting up Breakwater. I also decided to invest personally in the Fund. Over time, my involvement has increased and it made sense to formalize my relationship with Breakwater at this time."
"Avram has been both a professional and personal mentor to me for over a decade," said Saif Mansour. "I am delighted that we will be able to leverage Avram's skills, experience, and relationships as we continue to grow the Fund."
