Charleston, SC (PressExposure) June 27, 2008 -- L. Jaye Bell has a love for well written words that inspire and a talent for writing them beautifully. Her recent move to Folly Beach from Atlanta has brought inspiration for a new body of work specifically for those who love the Low Country. The new "Tideline" Series, brings the simplicity of the shoreline together with the beauty of hand made papers, shells and nature elements into one collage work of art.
Currently, L. Jaye's "Tide Line" Mixed Media collage on paper is on display in the Women's Caucus for Art Juried Exhibition held at the Saul Alexander Gallery, in the Main Branch of the Charleston Library. The exhibiton ends June 30th.
During Piccolo Spoleto, her art was on exhibit in the Charleston Artist Guild Juried Exhibiton at the Charleston Visitors Center. Ms. Bell entered her work, "Tide Recedes" in that exhibition. She was also included in the CAG's "Painted Palettes at Piccolo", held at the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery in the French Quarter.
Ms. Bell entered 3 works on canvas and 6 photographic works in the North Charleston Arts Festival Juried Exhibition in two categories, Photography and Mixed Media. At her booth during the North Charleston Arts Festival, she demonstrated her unique calligraphic style on canvas. The city of North Charleston chose her for to win a Demonstration Award from the event. Later that week, she also participated in the City of North Charleston's Art Walk, demonstrating and selling her unique style and one of a kind art cards.
Ms. Bell is a multi-talented artist, journalist and Under her company, Blu Lake Studios, she has written and published articles for regional publications and online.
Ms. Bell is also the producer and host of "Tribal Vibe", an online radio show heard at her website at [http://www.blulakestudios.com]. The show is based on indigenous and acoustic music and spiritual teachings and quotations from her collection of inspirational quotes, the same wisdom she shares in her visual art.
The latest episode, "Folly Beach" is a literally a bit of the beach to take home.
