Raleigh, NC (PressExposure) June 30, 2009 -- Americaâs largest turkey producer, Butterball, LLC, has teamed with The National Provisioner to develop a monthly podcast series that debuted May. Each Butterball podcast will feature executive team members offering commentary on various components of Butterballâs successful operational strategies.
A focus on the companyâs award-winning worker safety programs will kick off the series. Subsequent podcasts will cover an array of topics pertinent to the meat processing industry such as ethanol, food safety initiatives, sustainability and Butterballâs seasonal and holiday marketing strategies.
âDeveloping a podcast series with The National Provisioner has given Butterball an unprecedented opportunity to increase our companyâs exposure through new and innovative technologies,â said Brian Rodgers, director of safety and risk management, âAs audiences continue to alter how they receive messages, we think it is important to evolve with those changes. This podcast is a great example of how Butterball is making an effort to stay connected to its key audiences through emerging media.â
This podcast project was developed after Butterballâs industry-leading worker safety initiatives were featured in The National Provisionerâs January 2009 cover story. Andy Hanacek, executive editor of The National Provisioner, visited the companyâs Huntsville, AR facility and reported on the worker safety strategies in the story âSafe Haven.â
âThe National Provisionerâs editorial mission is to educate the protein industry on best practices and successful strategies in a variety of areas. Partnering with a top-of-the-line processor such as Butterball adds further credibility to our powerful brand,â said Hanacek.
âOur magazine will continue to carry that mission forward, with new delivery vehicles such as podcasts, webinars and videos that help us affect positive change throughout the entire meat-processing industry,â he continued.
