Faridabad, India (PressExposure) June 13, 2013 -- CASE in association with its group of industries has launched a highly advanced 'Pre Heater Technology' for steel industry. The technology involves heating of scrap/sponge iron up to 1000°C resulting in faster melting, low power consumption during the steel melting process. Experts estimated that CPH technology is a boon for Induction Furnace and Electric Arc Furnace.
CPH technology involves processing the scrap into desired size keeping in view the density and composition of the scarp material. The loading of raw material onto the moving hearth furnace is done over head magnets of specific capacities. The material is then passed through the high temperature zone inside the kiln. The heat inside the kiln is generated by a coal gasifier which produces coal gas as primary fuel for heat treatment. During the trial period, it has been observed that the melting time is reduced by half as compared to the present scenario and power saving is approximately 200 units per ton of steel melting.
During the launch of CPH design, Country Head of CASE Group, Mr. Rahuel George said," CPH technology will enhance productivity by almost double. It has been designed in such a way that industries will require minimum space for installation. Also, the technology assures increase life of induction furnace in addition to the cost-saving factor".
