Fleet, United Kingdom (PressExposure) October 22, 2012 -- Co-founders Lee Biggins and Brian Wakem are among the UK's most talented and innovative young entrepreneurs as they are recognised in the Young Guns Class of 2012.
Now in its tenth year, Young Guns uncovers 30 high potential companies and bright young entrepreneurial founders destined for success. All entrants must be aged 35 or under, the founder or co-founder of a privately-owned business and running a company with a turnover in excess of £1m. Lee Biggins, Managing Director of CV-Library: "Being part of this prestigious alumni is great recognition for the hard work Brian and I have put into building CV-Library over the last decade.
"It's hard to pin point our greatest achievements but sailing through the recession without making any redundancies and actually growing internally is something we're extremely proud of. Also, being the UK's largest and fastest growing CV database is at the top of the list."
Together the 30 companies that make up the Class of 2012 employ more than 1,000 staff. The 21 companies that divulged full financials have a combined turnover of £616m. Incredibly, the Young Guns are invariably resilient and positive, with 88% expressing ambivalence or positivity about the recession.
Ian Wallis, Crimson Publishing's Editorial Director: "The quality, diversity and uniqueness of entrepreneurial companies bursting through in the UK never ceases to astound. Starting and growing a fast-growth company is highly risky, exciting and most of all, damned hard work. Despite that and the backdrop of a tough economic climate, there's no shortage of good entrepreneurs finding gaps in sizeable markets. This list celebrates entrepreneurial endeavor in glorious Technicolor."
Previous winners include the founders of Graze, Innocent Drinks, Nails Inc., Mind Candy and Notonthehighstreet.com.
CV-Library has also recently been named as a finalist for Best Generalist Job Board at the NORAs 2012 and nominated for Best Business Award and Online Excellence at the Inspire Business Awards.
