Santa Fe, NM (PressExposure) April 30, 2012 -- The all-female camping group, the Get'Away Gals, is calling all lady campers in the Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas area to join the Get'Away Gals for another fun-filled weekend without the kids or the men in their everyday lives. The next getaway - the Colfax Campout - will take place in Colfax, Louisiana, from May 17 through 20. The Colfax Recreation Area RV Park is the location for food, fun, and laughter ladies enjoy.
Doesn't matter if your preferred style of camping involves tents, travel trailers, RV parks, or luxury hotels, there's nothing but fun to be had when the Get'Away Gals come out to play. Theirs is a no-dues organization open to "gals (who) just wanna' have fun," according to their website. The group's mission statement reads: The Get'away Gals is a women's social group. It was founded to provide an avenue for women to come together and have an enjoyable and relaxing camping experience.
Once every five or six weeks, the gals get together at one of the many campgrounds in their four-state area to enjoy camping in a relaxing, drama-free atmosphere to share the good life and enjoy lots of fun. "It's a Southern thing," they say.
Festivities in store for the Get'Away Gals in Colfax include many shared meals, a best-decorated bicycle contest, a bike ride across the levee for old-fashioned treats such as sundaes, malts, and milk shakes. The Vernon Investigators of the Paranormal will be conjuring up spirits lingering in the town's old, historic jailhouse, followed by a trip to the cemetery, where suggested attire is all about pretty negligees.
A fishing tournament and BBQ chicken lunch with all the trimmings at Iatt Lake provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy the moss-draped cypress trees that let you know you've arrived in the Deep South and the water lilies that will be in full bloom just in time for the tournament. A pajama party follows the fishing tourney, where there will be plenty of time for conversation, laughter, dancing, and $1 LCR.
