Abbotsford, Canada (PressExposure) March 09, 2009 -- Twenty years has flown by, like a friend reminds me on a regular basis, 'time flies when you're having fun". Twenty years with a company is not that special but when one sees so much employment lay offs and turn over, I am grateful for the privilege to be part of a corporate entity like Amsoil Inc.
One of the first credentials accomplished was the T-1 Certification Program. Granted, it's not a course that gets you a degree but working at it until you get it right is what worked for me. At a convention, which is an event that has happened every five years and was privileged to go to, I saw others who had more experience in mechanics than sales but knew what worked in life and in car or truck. Many where monthly sales leaders at one time or another who's fingers where too big for a keyboard from pulling wrenches.
Changes in everything takes time, as it did when I started as an Independent Dealer. I recall a regional sales meeting that I attended not long after joining, where I posed the question about the the corporation's use and application of the Internet. The reply had a cautious theme but it motivated me get online with the help of a family member who was a more capable computer technician and web savy than I so took the plunge.
Taking advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity, the Life Time Dealer Account, has paid for itself many times. Although not available since then, it has proved to be a positive factor in showing longevity, integrity and accountability. This business venture has shown that being a salesman is not essential but obviously helps. When the products are superior synthetics, learning to sell Amsoil is easy. This became evident at regional meetings where a degree of training in products and their application complimented my experience.
