Bangalore, India (PressExposure) October 30, 2010 -- Diwali, "the Festival of Lights" is one of the most important and colourful festivals celebrated with much fanfare, traditional good will and rituals across the country. Diwali is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. As part of the Diwali celebration, Canadian International School Bangalore, initiated a multi - faceted program in the school premises.
Students from 34 nationalities across the globe celebrated the festival of Diwali in all its traditional fervour with jubilation and enthusiasm at the school campus. The program themed as " Deep Jale " was kicked off by lighting of the lamp followed by various colourful programme like Fashion show, Skit, Dance, National Anthem, Antakshari, Religious programs and many more cultural activities. Such activities go a long way in enhancing the social and cultural development of the community in multi racial, multi lingual and multi cultural environment.
Diwali gives an opportunity to people of different faith and communities to come together and live in a spirit of communal harmony. Cultural activities in schools can help students appreciate the richness and diversity of our culture, as well as enduring relevance of our age old values of truth, tolerance and respect for all.
