Charleston, SC (PressExposure) July 03, 2008 -- Cenegenics South Carolina, the Charleston-based medical institute dedicated to improving its patientsâ quality of life, was recently recognized for quality of another kind. The facilityâs interior, designed by LS3P Image Studio of Charleston, recently garnered major awards from two of the nationâs largest interior-design associations.
The Carolinas chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) honored the design with one of only two Merit Awards in the category of health care. The organization selected the design from multiple entries submitted by interior architecture and design firms throughout North and South Carolina.
The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) also recognized the design with an Honor Award during the recent Carolinas Designworks Awards ceremony held in Charlotte. This was the only health care award given this year by IIDA.
Luxuriously serene, yet bright and modern, Cenegenics South Carolinaâs award-winning space was designed with the companyâs clients in mind to create a retreat where they can come to refresh, restore and rejuvenate. The new interior is more than just a pretty space; the environmentally-friendly design encourages the health of the planet, as well as the health of patients. To accomplish these dual goals, the design team used sustainable materials, such as cork flooring and nontoxic paints, and maximized the flow of natural light throughout the interior spaces.
âWeâre thrilled with the design of our institute, and weâre very proud of the awards,â says Mickey Barber, MD, CEO of Cenegenics South Carolina. âThe recognition means a lot to us, but weâre even more excited about how this space will help our clients pursue better health and long life.â
