Villanova Del Ghebbo, Italy (PressExposure) August 19, 2010 -- What is a great way of giving a message to someone special? How would you say "Thank You" in a sweet and unique way, letting them know you were thinking of them and greatly appreciated them?
Miho Suzuki, a young lady based in Tokyo Japan, has come up with a variety of lovely note cards that are great ways of getting across your sweet little messages to that special someone. Using Chiyogami (Japanese "rice paper") as the centerpiece, each white note card has Chiyogami trim and an envelope with a faux Chiyogami textured tissue stamp in the top right corner. The sets include 10 note cards and envelopes.
She has also a variety of small cards that are very simple in design, but beautiful with color matching and stunning Chiyogami pattern detail. She calls these small cards Mini Chiyo. All the cards include a craft paper envelope and are available in singles and sets of four. Prices range from $1.50 for a single card, to set of four for $5.00.
Miho also has sets of mini cards which she fondly calls Kimono girls. These mini cards are an absolute delight. They depict a girl dressed in a colorful Chiyogami kimono, holding a janomegasa, which is a traditional Japanese umbrella. Usually made of thick oiled washi (Japanese word for the traditional papers made from the long inner fibers of three plants, wa meaning Japanese and shi meaning paper), they were very common in the past. Each card is made of hand folded chiyogami paired with kingin (gold and silver) washi and textured black paper for the hair and geta (Japanese footwear that resembles both wooden clogs and flip-flops). The detail is drawn which is added to the janomegasa as well as the lovely ornaments in the girl's hair. All cards include a handmade white envelope and are available in single sets which cost $1.80.
