Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre Nashville Shines a Spotlight on Filmmakers

Nashville, TN (PressExposure) April 23, 2012 -- Nashville earned its nickname "Music City" long before colored television, at a time when talkies were still all the rage. Its reputation as Music City has been consistently proven for over 200 years according to the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau, but now Nashville is making a name for itself through films, earning a spot in the top ten Film Festivals in the United States, according to Brooks Institute.

In alignment with the April 2012 Nashville Film Festival, the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre decided to lend a helping hand to up-and-coming film makers in need of wisdom and guidance.

"A Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre is a special place," says Rev. Brian Fesler, Pastor of the Nashville Church of Scientology, "It's our mission to uplift artists because they will bring about change in society. Whether it is a good change or a bad change rests entirely upon their spiritual values or lack thereof."

On April 21st, successful film makers Bayou Bennett and Daniel Lir of Dolce Films traveled from Hollywood to deliver a seminar on "How to Make and Market Your Film." In this seminar, the audience discovered how to create a buzz for their film and get special insight into the technical aspects of film making.

Bennett and Lir have produced award-winning TV spots and films, and collaborated on innovative projects for a long list of clients, including: Adidas, Indieflix, The Tennis Channel, MTV, Nickelodeon, Smashbox Cosmetics, City Harvest, Patricia Field, Atlantic Records, Island Def Jam and Estee Lauder. In 2009, Dolce Films won an award for "Around the Block" starring Lea Michele of Fox's "Glee" at the New York Television Festival.

Bennett and Lir are currently writing partners with Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson) on a new feature film called "In Search of Fellini," and are in pre-production on a feature film titled "Skateboarding with Saddam." The film is Executive Produced by Doug Claybourne (Executive Producer of "Fast and the Furious", "War of the Roses", "D2: The Mighty Ducks", "Jack" and "Hearts of Darkness" and Producer of "The Mask of Zorro", "Money Train" and "Rumble Fish").

Driven by a purpose to inspire and entertain, they work hard to breathe life into the type of creative projects that will have a significant impact on society. Bennett has said that as a filmmaker, she is "motivated by a purpose to inspire hope and positive change in our world-with humor, great characters and meaningful stories."

In response to this, Fesler says, "That is exactly why they were perfect for this seminar. They are driven to help others to create positive change in the community and that is exactly what this world needs."
