Fox Milne, United Kingdom (PressExposure) August 16, 2012 -- Cognita have invested £1.6m in Kings School and Nursery in Plymouth to help the school to continue to develop. The school has a new school hall, new calss rooms an an extended nursery.
Cognita Schools' chairman, Sir Chris Woodhead, has opened new facilities at King's School in Plymouth. The new class rooms and hall are the result of £1.6m of investment by Cognita Schools. The hall will provide room for sport, drama, assemblies and the many extra-curricular activities offered by the school. To go along with this marvellous space the school has also opened six new classrooms as well as a larger nursery.
King's school and nursery gives the opportunity to girls and boys from 3 months of age to enjoy a complete education in a warm and nurturing environment. The school is known for its happy atmosphere and a strong sense of community is fostered in the children as they grow up in the school. By the age of eleven children are well placed to move on to the next stage of their education.
The nursery was the proud recipient of the Bristol Standard Award for Quality and Effectiveness of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Provision. Emma Russell from King's School was presented with a certificate to mark the achievement. Emma commented "The award reflects the continuous professionalism and dedication of our whole staff team, and our commitment to the wellbeing of every child in our care."
The Nursery Staff have achieved the highest quality of practise across ten disciplines, which include Equality, Diversity, Learning, Supporting Play and Development and Inclusion as well as Management, Leadership and Staffing.
The new hall and class rooms will further help children develop their self-confidence and maturity. The light and airy new hall provides a real hub for the school and the bright, well equipped classrooms will allow the school to grow, whilst keeping small class sizes. The new hall will help the children's sporting progress too. More children can now emulate Christopher from year 3 who recently won the 60 metres sprint in the Plymouth Schools Athletics Competition.
Cognita's King's school continues to thrive and this major investment will further develop the talents of each child. The investment in the school can only help the school go from strength to strength.
