Houston, TX (PressExposure) April 24, 2009 -- Harvest Theatre House, 17770 Imperial Valley Drive, Houston, TX 77060. Saturday, May 09, 2009 @ 7:00 p.m. Don't leave your theater seats just yet, for the curtain rises again as the snooty, yet wacky Baldwin family takes center stage and shares insight into their dysfunctional, but sometimes unrestrained lifestyle. The hilarious comedy stage play, "How 'bout That!" is making its way into the hearts of many families and onto the platform of many stages. The play made its Debut last year and opened with very favorable reviews from its audiences.
Having persevered through hard work and dedication, the now affluent Johnnie Mae (played by playwright, Donnetta Amos) is both the catalyst for her family's antics and the root that keeps them grounded. But sometimes her efforts are all but overthrown by her family's superficial arrogance as they live in a cloud of upper-class pretense that all is well. Nonetheless, with a matriarch like Johnnie Mae, no one is better to give them a dose of reality and bring them back down to earth.
Not your average 'inspirational stage show' performance here, these performers exude a range of emotions that brings laughter, love, empathy and tears. Their ability to connect with the audience and keep them engaged until the very end is inspiring. It will certainly be the springboard to many sequels as those who attend begin to feel like a part of the Baldwin Family and want to know more about them.....now "How 'bout That!"
