Construction Kenya Launches Service to Connect Homeowners With Contractors

Nairobi, Kenya (PressExposure) May 21, 2009 -- As the global economic crunch continues to bite, a majority of homeowners in Kenya are depending heavily on the Internet to search for competitive products and services. To make it easier for the busy homeowners, Samscom Media, the publishers of http://www.constructionkenya.com, has rolled out a new service aimed to connect the homeowner with qualified contractors.

According to the company's marketing manager, Ms Hellen Wangechi, many homeowners in Kenya are sourcing for products and services online a move that calls for the establishment of a targeted way of matching product and service seekers with qualified contractors.

“ A majority of homeowners are spending many hours on the Internet trying to search for bargains and this is a bit taxing on them,” says Ms Wangechi adding that http://www.constructionkenya.com will significantly reduce the hassle that the homeowners currently go through while sourcing for products and services online.

Under the new service, a property developer or owner will enter a request for a product or service on http://www.constructionkenya.com and the lead will then be emailed or faxed to a maximum of three matching contractors. The contractors will be at liberty to accept or reject the lead.

Upon acceptance of the lead, all the consumer information for that project will be given to the contractor so as to set up an estimate appointment directly. All participating contractors will be required to sign up with http://www.constructionkenya.com at no cost obligation and they will only pay a one-off fee after accepting the first lead.

“We are anticipating to see significant requests as we will not charge products and service seekers any fees,” says Ms Wangechi. “However, out of consideration for our contractors we asking products and service seekers to only submit serious job requests, she concludes.
