(www.GAOTek.com) has announced its release of protocol converter,which is a cost-effective device designed to convert 1-4 E1 channels to 10/100 Base-T Ethernet. It performs transmission of Jumbo Frames specified in IEEE 802.1Q standard and Ethernet switching with VLAN capability.The converter is also used to convert the Ethernet data frames into HDLC frames which that can be transferred on WAN.
This protocol converter, model GAO RB-4G,is compliant with IEEE802.3,IEEE802.3u and IEEE802.1Q standards.It can automatically inspect an effective E1 channel without interrupting data transmission,and will only reduce the data throughput even if part of the E1-channel fails. This RB-4G converter provides flexibley configuration and can extend its bandwidth up to 7.68Mbps that forfor ?high data rate transmission by using four E1 channels. It is E1 fault-tolerant and simple to maintain, and performs well in both full and half duplex modes.
