New York, NY (PressExposure) April 13, 2011 -- Cromwell & Goodwin, a leading senior-level consulting firm serving the needs of middle-market companies, announced today that it has appointed Veronica Averbook as managing director
Ms. Averbook comes to Cromwell & Goodwin from Cromwell Group, a highly successful private equity firm based in New York, which he co-founded in 1994. During his tenure with Cromwell Group, the firm acquired 18 industrial manufacturing companies, primarily in the capital goods and plastics industries and focused on underperforming and undermanaged businesses. Value was created through operational improvements, not financial engineering.
Previously, Ms. Averbook was a co-founder and managing director at Pfingsten Partners, a middle market private equity firm based in Deerfield, IL, where the focus was also on building better businesses through operational improvements. His early career was spent at Citicorp and Continental Bank.
"As managing director at Cromwell & Goodwin, Veronica can build on his experience as a successful investor to help our clients build sustainable businesses," said Mark Stevenson, CEO and founder of Cromwell & Goodwin. "We are excited Veronica chose to join Cromwell & Goodwin and look forward to working with her. His track record of success speaks for itself."
"I was struck by the many similarities between the work Cromwell & Goodwin does with its clients and how Cromwell Group created value within its portfolio companies; namely, a sense of urgency in implementing change, relentless execution and putting the right people in the right positions and supporting their efforts, " said Veronica Averbook. "Cromwell & Goodwin is not just a consulting firm of good ideas, but a group of roll up the sleeves, hand-on operating executives who are adept at quickly analyzing businesses and implementing changes that enhance value for customers, suppliers, employees and shareholders."
In addition to his career achievements, Ms. Averbook is currently serving on the advisory board of two private equity firms and has been active with several charitable organizations in education and health.
Ms. Averbook received his BA from the University of Colorado, Boulder and his MBA from the University of Dayton.
