Edinburgh, United Kingdom (PressExposure) June 03, 2013 -- GetLenses.ie, Ireland's largest online retailer of contact lenses, solutions and eye care products has just launched its new website which has been designed by their own customers. The new website now provides an unparalleled and sleek user-friendly experience with clever navigation and functionality throughout. Technical information and customer reviews can be seen for all contact lenses as well as a full list of compatible and upgrade lenses to ensure customers are fully informed of new and exciting contact lenses that come to market. Clever use of images which change to highlight lens specifications make it almost impossible to order the wrong prescription.
The most important change to the new website is the navigation. Being guided by their customers has meant everyone can find their products in a maximum of 2 clicks and 60% now have their products displayed on the home page. The customer's account section has also been completely redesigned to allow reminders and automatic reordering, addresses, prescriptions and reviews to be added and edited in just a couple of clicks. Live Chat has been introduced directly as a result of feedback gained from usability testing sessions.
"Ireland is where GetLenses originated so it was extremely important to get our customers involved in the evolution of the website, and this is only stage one" says Lindsey Robins, eCommerce Marketing Manager for GetLenses.ie. "Stage 2 will see a 3 step checkout process and 1 click reordering, a mobile website and personalised homepage so customers always see the products they've ordered in the past". Our warehouse, which is based in York, has recently implemented a new order management system which will bring live dispatch dates to their website in the coming months and ensure no picking errors.
The online retail market is growing at an unstoppable rate, surging 16% year-on-year in April 2013. GetLenses.ie is growing at 48% year on year and to keep up with demand they have increased their stock by half a million lenses in the last 4 months to ensure no other optical company delivers quicker. They have even changed their packaging to ensure all orders fit through letterboxes wherever possible.
