Laguna Beach, CA (PressExposure) October 09, 2011 -- Former Texas resident and acclaimed ballroom dance instructor Eric Romero has been moved by dance since he was 4 years old. He is celebrating his new location of dance in Laguna Beach, California.
Romero, is most noted for his very own Footloose story as he took a stance against the ballroom industry heavy weights, Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Plano. Romero refused to stop teaching dance and as a result of going against a Texas Judges order he served a 30 day sentence for teaching a cha cha dance lesson.
Romero is partnering with The Art of Fitness, to begin his his new position as the centers very own Professional Salsa Dance Teacher. He will begin teaching members of the club all the famous latin dances you see on Dancing With The Stars dances at 7:00 p.m. Thursday October 13th 7-8pm.
"I'll be teaching three Latin dances: the samba, cha cha, and salsa. I will probably be teaching the swing also. These are fun dances, and people wanna enjoy the beat to latin sounds," Romero said. "I love teaching dance so much I can't wait to create a magic moments that the club members will enjoy for a life time." I will be be available to private lessons for the clubs members!"
"I chose the club because I firmly believe that the club wants what I want, which is to give their clients the very best a club has to offer. Shows like 'So You Think You Can Dance' and 'Dancing with the Stars' have proven to bring value to people's lives," Romero said. "We feel a sense of togetherness because of shows like these. If anyone knows me they also know I am a huge advocate of health and wellness...not just in dancing but in life."
"More than 30 percent of Americans are obese, and adult obesity has tripled in the past 30 years," said Romero. "Television shows such as 'So You Think You Can Dance' are not only entertaining but are also encouraging people to live a physically active lifestyle. I can't wait to do my part to contribute to the clubs mission!
