Douglas, GA - July 2011 - With an impressive and continually growing professional career, Danny Clay is living the dream. Regarded as an exceptional singer, actor and motivational speaker, Danny grabs an audience's attention through a variety of venues.
Danny Clay was discovered during a chance meeting by Nephew Tommy while recording an episode of The Steve Harvey Morning Show in 2007. That unexpected encounter led to Danny's performing a medley of Luther Vandross songs for a Steve Harvey talent show known as "Radio Star". Danny's performance drew an overwhelming response from the Steve Harvey Morning Show audience and his career skyrocketed.
Danny was subsequently invited by Steve Harvey to provide the opening act for Harvey's "Tear Your Mouth Out" comedy tour. Following completion of the tour with Steve Harvey, Danny went on to perform with such R&B elites as Ne-Yo, Avant, Musiq Soulchild and John Legend. Danny Clay then recorded and released his first national single entitled "Foolish Pride" on the CMG Music Label.
In December 2009, destiny struck again when Danny Clay was invited to be a cast member in the play 'Madea's Big Happy Family' by iconic stage and film producer/director Tyler Perry. Danny played the part of the emasculated, bumbling auto mechanic 'Harold Jones' next to such names as Tyler Perry (who starred in his own production), N.A.A.C.P. Award winning actress Cassi Davis, Palmer Williams, Jr, Chaundra Currelly-Young and Cheryl 'Pepsi' Riley. Danny was also given the finale spot of each performance to sing the Luther Vandross classic, "If Only for One Night".
These stunning performances and opportunities came on top of a number of set-backs in Danny's life, including substance abuse and incarceration. With a second chance at life, Danny performs with passion and appreciation, not taking anything for granted.
Danny Clay's future is bright as he continues to dazzle audiences through venues such as his upcoming August 12, 2011 Midnight Comedy Jam performance which is part of Steve Harvey's 9th Annual Hoodie Awards program in Las Vegas. He also performs in the hit inspirational stage play "The Soul of a Man" held on September 17, 2011 at the College Park Auditorium in College Park, Georgia.
