Cranston, Rhode Island (PressExposure) November 07, 2011 -- The male-focused dating blog How to Get a Girl to Like You received a visual overhaul this week in an attempt to help visitors navigate the site more easily. The site hopes that the new look will make the site more visually appealing and up-to-date than the previous incarnation.

Site contributor Susan Jennings discusses the motivation behind the new layout: "Although we generally received positive feedback about How to Get a Girl to Like You, we did receive a number of suggestions from regulars claiming that they found the old navigation system difficult and clunky. As any webmaster knows, the functionality of website can make or break its success. That's why we aimed to streamline the user's ability to jump from page to page without skipping a beat."

What particular changes did How to Get a Girl to Like You make to make navigation easier? Jennings adds that, "The most important thing we did was move the page navigation buttons from the bottom to the top of the page. Many of our users noted that they didn't like scrolling down to the bottom of the homepage simply to access our contact us or about us pages."

The site also overhauled the visual style of the site -opting for a more simple and straightforward feel. Jennings adds that this puts the focus of the site where it belongs: on the content. She states, "It's clear that How to Get a Girl to Like You is not a site about graphic design or architecture. In the case of dating and relationship content, people simply want easy and actionable advice that they can put into use in their real life. For example, if a guy wants to tips on how to flirt, we want to make that easy for him to find. That's we decided, after much debate, to opt for a simple black and white color scheme. This makes it easier for site visitors to get the information they need quickly and effortlessly."

Other minor changes made to the site include the ability to leave comments on posts and a toolbar that lists the latest posts, sorted by date. The site's team hopes that this will help users find the most relevant and up-to-date information in the realm of dating.
