Mission Viejo, CA (PressExposure) April 03, 2009 -- DiversOne announces the launch of its new social networking and social media site at http://www.DiversOne.com. Using the latest in Web 2.0 technology, the website is designed to connect scuba divers worldwide; users can share photos, videos, trip reports, classified ads, and blogs, as well as find dive buddies, share dive conditions, and promote trips and products. CEO and co-founder Trevor Lattin said, âOur scuba diving sport has such great comraderie and sense of community, but I could never find a website that helped capture all of this fellowship into one dynamic placeâ¦so we decided to fill that need with DiversOne.â
In its first release, DiversOne has already built out a solid set of features. CTO and co-founder David Lanza said that many more robust features will roll out in the next few months, âOur beta test users really helped define our current and future features. We have numerous new add-ons in the development pipeline that divers will love, we want to always keep our content dynamic for our users.â DiversOne expects to roll out at least one new feature add-on per month, with its users defining what those features are and what they look like.
DiversOne is headquartered in Orange County, California, giving it access to the strong diver community located there as well as convenient access to the international diver community.
âThe content that divers are posting on DiversOne is amazingâ¦we have several professional underwater videographers and photographers who are using the platform to present their latest work, and it is awe-inspiring,â said Lattin. âIt is interesting to us how quickly DiversOne has grown internationally, but that just shows how global scuba diving really is.â
DiversOne was developed to be easy to use and navigate and is built to be an endless repository for scuba diving information. Dive clubs, retailers, manufacturers, resorts, dive boat operators, travel agencies can create their own profile and connect with divers. The goal for the company is to have 100,000 scuba divers from around the world use DiversOne has the de facto social platform for their sport. The site is free to join and use, and key advertising partners will support the company. A portion of profits will be donated to impactful ocean environmental causes to help preserve the water planet. Lattin said, âThe scuba diving sport is very much affected by the health of the oceans and our planet, we need to do all we can to preserve it for us and future generations.â DiversOne will be partnering with several key environmental partners to promote awareness and change.
