Worcester, MA (PressExposure) January 06, 2011 -- Bay State Savings Bank employees took the "casual Friday" concept very seriously this December, making a $5 donation each week to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette Santa Fund for the privilege of wearing jeans to work. Those who participated helped to raise $1,500 for the T&G Santa Fund.
"The bank typically makes a donation to the T&G Santa Fund each year," said Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Marketing, Diane Giampa, "and we thought it would be more meaningful to involve our employees directly, with an opportunity to 'dress down' for a good cause." The response was overwhelming. "Bay State Savings Bank is very pleased to be able to give so generously to the T&G Santa, and to help make the holidays a little brighter for local families in need," added Giampa.
Bay State Savings Bank of Worcester, MA has been a mutually owned community savings bank since it was founded in 1895.
