Green Cove Springs, Florida (PressExposure) December 31, 2009 -- An alcohol awareness class is a requirement in the state of Florida for any driver who wants to get their learner's permit. I DRIVE SAFELY has been providing driver education courses for more than ten years and they are taking a stand on the importance of a drug and alcohol awareness course. They have created a course that is entirely online in an effort to get teens more interested in the topics.
"We are very realistic about how much attention teenagers pay to a classroom-based course and that is why we have taken it to the web," a representative from I DRIVE SAFELY explains. "Teens need an extra edge to stay engaged in the material and if learning from the comfort of their own home helps raises awareness about drug and alcohol-impaired driving then that is what we will give them." All you need is a computer with an internet connection to access this course, so where you work on it is completely up to you.
This drug and alcohol awareness course is sectioned off into eight units and each one of them is engaging and interactive. You can log in and out of the course as often as you like, so you can work on it in multiple sessions. This gives you the opportunity to work at your own pace and to take breaks when you feel you need them.
"Driver safety is our number one priority and we believe that this web-based alcohol awareness class will get us closer to our goal," continues the representative. "This format allows teens to make their own work schedule and will ultimately make them pay greater attention to the big issues."
