China BAK Battery Inc., one of the largest lithium-ion battery cell manufacturers in the world, as measured by production output, has entered India under their own brand name E-BAK.
The parent company is listed in NASDAQ as CBAK. The company has a global footprint, headquartered in China with offices in USA, Germany and now in India. It commands a 65 percent market share in China and is one of the principal Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) suppliers for leading handset manufacturers globally. Its products are sold in Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, Taiwan and many other countries.
The company has appointed M/s JP distributors, Panjim as its authorized distributor in the city. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Saket Sain- National Sales Head emphasized on the need for providing quality mobile battery at an affordable price to the customer. The batteries provide a longer talk time and stand-by time as compared to its competitors, and are positioned as "Value for Money" for the cost conscious customer going for a branded product. E-BAK is ISO 9001:2000 Quality System and ISO 14001 Environment Management System certified. E-BAK products have been certified by the CE authorization and UL authorization for safety and quality measures.
The company has ambitious growth plans for India. Mr. Saket Sain said that with few branded players in the replacement battery market, BAK Telecom India Pvt. Ltd is aiming to capture a sizable share of the branded battery market by providing quality products to the customer.
Initially launching with mobile batteries, it aims to diversify into laptop and car batteries in near future.
