New York, NY (PressExposure) August 10, 2009 -- E1 Entertainment US, a major distributor of music and video with headquarters in Port Washington, NY has selected MCG, Inc. to fully outsource its Information Technology department. Effective August 4th, 2009, MCG will acquire several current E1 US personnel and utilize its own resources to position E1 to save more than 50% of the cost of running their technology services.
E1 has been a market leader in the technology aspect of both physical and digital audio and video distribution. The current E1 technologies span across the AS/400, significant website reporting and distribution, and several large in house custom built applications. In addition, the distribution plant is highly automated and interfaced to these systems for effective product movement and accurate inventory control. The server environment on site is complex and supports all functions and over 150 users on multi shift schedules 5-6 days per week.
MCG, Inc. demonstrated the expertise with the AS/400, web development, custom development, and infrastructure support to E1 management. According to Michael Rosenberg, President of E1 Entertainment US, MCG, Inc. brought the necessary talent and management to the table to make him comfortable with the outsourcing equation. âMCG, Inc. showed me how they could put the team in place, manage the process, and still save the organization significant dollars without compromising quality. And from a budgetary point of view, MCG, Inc. guarantees the cost of the service will be fixed, making it simple to manage our cost structure.â
MCG is able to provide the necessary flexibility of resources to match E1âs technology needs. If the priorities shift to web development, MCG can quickly slot development resources. As the distribution system requirements on the AS/400 grow, MCG can augment this staff. In this fashion, the appropriate resources are always at hand, but E1 is not forced to employ full time staff.
MCG, Inc. has been providing IT services to the industry for 25 years. With the development of a fixed price service called Managed Resources, MCG, Inc. has given companies small and large reason to consider outsourcing as a critical cost reduction program during tougher economic times. With a broad range of skills at hand, MCG, Inc. is well prepared to address the needs of many industry groups and differing platforms and software languages.
